The three Bronze Age listed monuments within our boundaries signify this was a valued sacred place 4000 years ago.. and furthur back still, the Downs are a ripple effect from the Alps forming 20-35 million years ago!  History here is multi-layered and extraordinarily tangible. 

The chalk grassland used as pastureland for millenia is a rare ecosystem which requires grazing and thus provides a home to skylarks, barn owls, adonis butterflies, bats, glow-worms..
